REPUBLICAN RUNDOWN
August 12, 2022
Vol. 2, No. 62
CHAIRMAN'S CORNER
Ken Raymond, Chairman
What can you do about the FBI raid at President Trump's home?
On Thursday, a young woman called party headquarters and enthusiastically asked to volunteer to do precinct work and help get out the vote for the elections this year. She said that she was inspired by the FBI raid on President Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago.
“I’ve got to do something. Sign me up!” she said with excitement.
I believe the enemies of American freedom made the same mistake famously admitted by Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941. “I fear that all we’ve done is to awaken a sleeping giant and filled him with terrible resolve,” Admiral Yamamoto said.
And the backlash has begun. Almost 24 hours after the search at Mar-a-Lago, Eric Trump reported that Trump’s Save America PAC is on track to shatter previous fundraising records.
But the young woman that called us, this week, has the right idea. We must respond to this horrific assault on American freedom with an army of volunteers willing to help get out the vote, serve as precinct judges, and work as campaign volunteers.
What can you do about the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago? You can volunteer to help us during the elections, and you can ask others to volunteer. You can help us make the coming red wave bigger and more powerful than anyone thought it could be.
And you can make the enemies of America experience the same regret as Admiral Yamamoto. To be a part of this growing army, click here.

This Week Is
Richard Gottlieb
Running For
NC SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE - DISTRICT 21A / SEAT 1
Richard Gottlieb is a Winston-Salem native. After attending college at Emory University (phi beta kappa) and graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law (with honors), Richard returned to Winston-Salem to practice with Petree Stockton LLP, one of the oldest and most prestigious law firms in North Carolina. Since his election as a Resident Superior Court Judge for the 21st Judicial District (Forsyth County, North Carolina), Judge Gottlieb has presided over motions hearings and jury trials in civil and criminal matters across the State of North Carolina. Judge Gottlieb is recognized as an expert in civil law and is a member of the civil sub-committee of the North Carolina Pattern Jury Committee. He was elected by his peers to serve on the Executive Committee of the North Carolina Conference of Superior Court Judges. He was appointed by Chief Justice Mark Martin to sit on the Dispute Resolution Commission.
Although his time in private practice and his current position on the Superior Court consumes a significant amount of time, community involvement is important to Judge Gottlieb, and he devotes time to serving on the boards of a number of local not-for-profit and public service entities. These have included the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Winston-Salem, the campaign cabinet for United Way of Forsyth County, and the campaign cabinet for the Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County. He is a past President of the Forsyth County Bar Association and is a past chairman of the Ethics & Grievance Committee.
Judge Gottlieb and his wife, Jennifer, met in law school. Jennifer retired from her law practice and now teaches children with dyslexia at the Triad Academy division of Summit School. They have two college age children, Noah and Celia, and two Labrador Retrievers, Blue and Sam Brown.
Judicial Philosophy: Judge Gottlieb treats each and every person who appears before him professionally, respectfully, and without bias. He believes in the primacy of the United States Constitution and of the North Carolina State Constitution. He strives to apply the law fairly, compassionately, and as it is written.

Also Being Featured This Week Is
Aaron Berlin
Running For
NC SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE - DISTRICT 21A / SEAT 2
Born and raised in Winston-Salem; Aaron Berlin attended both Moore Elementary School and Forsyth Country Day. After graduating high school, he attended Wake Forest University and then Wake Forest School of Law. During law school, he served as the Student Solicitor to prosecute honor code violations and was also a member of the National Trial Team. During his law school summers he interned with a Superior Court Judge and at our District Attorney’s office. When he graduated in 2010, he was honored as a member of the Order of the Barristers.
After law school, Berlin wanted to stay in the community that has given me so much. He was hired as an Assistant District Attorney in Forsyth County in 2011 and began his work as the dedicated Domestic Violence Prosecutor. In this position, he worked with victims and implemented a process to prepare victims at the battered women’s shelter for court on a weekly basis.
Berlin later received the assignment to be the special driving while impaired prosecutor. In this position, he prosecuted approximately 300 driving while impaired cases and had a 90% conviction rate. As a result of his success, he received the Mother’s Against Drunk Driving Prosecutor Hero Award. During his time as an Assistant District Attorney, Berlin prosecuted approximately 2,000 district court cases.
Berlin was elected as the Chairman for the Forsyth County Republican Party in 2018 and served in that role until 2020.
Outside the courtroom, Berlin works with Family Services, Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers, the Battered Women’s Shelter, and is involved in his church.
