THE REPUBLICAN WEEK 2/11/22
THE MAIN THING: Unmasking Democrats' Hypocrisy
Dems’ Double-Standards: Despite forcing masks because they're “following the science,” Democrats have no problem taking off their masks when it’s inconvenient to themselves. Their hypocrisy is increasingly brazen:
- In Georgia, Democrat Stacey Abrams posed maskless with school children she backed forced masking in schools.
- In California, Democrat Mayor Eric Garcetti defended his maskless photos saying he “held his breath.”
- In Michigan, Democrat Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin praised her selfie skills as she posed maskless with children and parents.
- In New York, Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul has imposed mask mandates in schools despite her refusal to wear a mask when meeting with students.
GO DEEPER: RNC Research detailed dozens of instances of Democrats breaking their own rules.
Meanwhile, children are still being forced to wear masks in school. There’s little scientific support, but plenty of examples of their consequences:
- Speech therapists report as much as a 364% increase in referrals of babies and toddlers with speech delays.
Political consequences: Democrat elites are out-of-touch with the families they’re forcing to mask, and their hypocrisy only makes it worse.
Bidenflation's New Milestone: Highest in 40 Years
Everything is more expensive: The latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveal that prices are up 7.5% from last year – the largest annual increase since 1982.
- Real average hourly earnings fell 1.7 percent in January, with inflation eating up any wage gains.
Americans are paying more for just about everything. Your Super Bowl party will cost more this year thanks to Biden:
- Ground beef for chili: +13%
- Crackers: +12.6
- Chicken wings: +11.6%
- Snacks: +8.2%
- Sauces & condiments: +5.7%
- Fruits & veggies: +5.6%
- Alcohol: +2.7%
- Hot dogs: +2.1%
Emptying your wallet: The Wall Street Journal reported that Bidenflation is costing Americans more than $250 a month.
- Who is feeling the price squeeze the most? Millennials, Latinos and the middle class are at the top of the list.
Policy impacts people: This crushing inflation is the result of Joe Biden’s failed agenda. Unfortunately for the American people, Biden has doubled down on the policies that caused this inflation in the first place.
- Bottom line: Biden lied – his inflation is not ‘transitory’ – and hardworking Americans are facing the consequences as skyrocketing prices for nearly everything are here to stay.
Newsweek: GOP Invests in Black Communities
Cover Story: Newsweek's cover story highlights the GOP's Black engagement efforts. RNC National Spokesperson and Director of Black Media Affairs Paris Dennard outlined how Republicans are growing the Party.
- "The GOP is an inclusive party making significant inroads and, with recent wins already, we are optimistic about our chances in having even more Black conservatives elected to serve in 2022," said Dennard.
Growing the Party: "It is good for our party, which is now a working class, blue-collar, middle class, lower class party, to represent the fullness of our party and the country. We are growing the party, not compromising on our principles," added Dennard.
The Republican Party has always been the party of freedom, opportunity, and empowerment with countless examples of Black Americans in the GOP involved at every level to make our party grow, thrive, and lead on important issues of the day.

NEW EPISODE: “Real America” Podcast featuring Florida Congressman Byron Donalds
Dems losing ground: RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel launched a new episode of her podcast “Real America” in which she sat down with Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida to discuss Republican momentum and how Democrats have failed Black Americans.
- More harm than good: “They've taken the pain and anguish that has existed in the Black community, that a lot of Black Americans have thought and felt for a very long time,” Donalds said of Democrats’ disastrous policies. “And they've exploited that to the detriment of the people they said they were coming to help.”
The most destructive of these policies?
- Crime wave: Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies disproportionately hurt Black Americans, said Donalds.
- Opposing opportunity: A beneficiary of school choice, Donalds called out Democrats for blocking educational opportunity for students, particularly those trapped in failing school districts.
- Stoking division: Donalds slammed Democrats for attempting a federal takeover of elections and smearing Republican election integrity efforts like Voter ID.
Congressman Donalds encouraged Americans to get involved in this year’s midterm elections: “Do something, hold a sign,” he said. “Canvass a neighborhood, knock on doors, make phone calls, be a poll watcher. Do something. Be a part of the solution.”
