RNC STATEMENT ON THE SECOND DAY OF KETANJI BROWN JACKSON'S HEARINGS

WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Spokesperson Nathan Brand released the following statement regarding the first day of questions for Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson:

"Ketanji Brown Jackson failed to provide answers for her problematic record of soft-on-crime sentencing for child porn offenders, voluntarily defending terrorists, and ties to critical race theory. Today's testimony leaves Americans with more concerning questions. Joe Biden’s pick is clearly the radical he wanted, and one far outside the mainstream.”

Background:

  • Jackson has said CRT is involved in sentencing policy. She refused to disavow CRT at Georgetown Day School where she sits on the board.
  • Jackson has called for removing mandatory minimum sentences for child porn, questioned making convicted child predators register as sex offenders, and said some who collect child porn are not actually pedophiles.
  • Despite Jackson’s claim that she did not get to choose her clients as a public defender, she continued to advocate for Guantanamo terrorists when she went into private practice.
