RNC STATEMENT ON MARCH PRODUCER PRICE INDEX

WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the March producer price index:

“Prices are skyrocketing, families are struggling, and Biden is lying about who is to blame. Under Biden, producer price increases have hit record highs for 12 consecutive months with no signs of slowing down. Come November, Biden, and Democrats will face the reality of their failures.”

Background:

• March’s Producer Price Index rose by 11.2 percent since last year, the highest increase on record.
  • This is the 12^th consecutive month producer price increases have hit record highs.
  • Core producer prices – which takes out food and energy – also increased at a record 9.2 percent.
• Polling from this past week shows Americans overwhelming disapprove of Biden’s handling of inflation:
• CBS / YouGov: 31% approve and 69% disapprove
• The Wall Street Journal: 34% approve and 63% disapprove
• ABC / Ipsos: 29% approve and 69% disapprove
