RNC STATEMENT ON FAILURE OF BIDEN'S ELECTION TAKEOVER

WASHINGTON – RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement after Joe Biden's attempted takeover of local elections failed in the Democrat-controlled Senate:

"The Democrat election lie died tonight. Joe Biden calling Americans racist for wanting voter ID was never a winning strategy, and neither was trying to break the Senate to appease radical left-wing activists. Americans are facing real problems like rampant crime and rising prices, but Joe Biden doesn’t care.”

BACKGROUND: 

• The RNC is involved in 31 lawsuits in 12 states fighting Democrat attacks on election integrity at the state level, including intervening in multiple lawsuits defending Republican-passed laws from attacks by the Biden Department of Justice.
  • The RNC has recently sued Winooski and Montpelier, Vermont, and New York City, for allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections.
• The RNC is building a historic election integrity operation and has hired fifteen Election Integrity state directors and ten state counsels in key states to train and recruit poll-watchers and work with stakeholders to establish best election practices.
• The RNC considers an election integrity a top priority because Americans deserve to have confidence that elections are free, fair, and transparent.
