RNC STATEMENT ON APRIL JOBS REPORT
Wages fail to keep up with rising inflation under Biden
WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the April jobs report:
"The latest jobs report doesn’t change anything for families suffering under Biden’s failed economic agenda that has resulted in sky-high inflation, soaring prices, and now a serious threat of a recession. Families can’t afford food and groceries, wages can’t keep up with inflation, and Biden’s agenda is only going to make it worse. Voters squarely blame Biden and the Democrats for the harm they are causing struggling families across the country.”

- The jobs report shows that Bidenflation is shrinking workers’ paychecks, with rising prices eating up any wage growth.
- There are still 1.1 million Americans who lost their job during the pandemic and have yet to get it back.
- The unemployment rates for Black men, Asians, Americans without a high school diploma , and Americans who attended some college all increased.
- The U.S. economy shrank 1.4 percent on an annualized rate last quarter.
- Biden inherited a robust recovery and is turning it into stagflation – even Biden’s own economists are warning of a recession
- Republican-led states are leading the way.
- Republican-led states on average have recovered over 98 percent of their lost jobs compared to just 86 percent for Democrat-run states.
- Out of the top 25 states with the lowest unemployment rates, 20 are led by Republican governors and 21 have Republican-controlled legislatures.
- 66% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy.
- 64% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling to helping the middle class.
- 81% of Americans feel the government is doing too little to reduce inflation.
- 55% of Americans feel Joe Biden’s policies have worsened economic conditions, while only 19% feel he has improved them.
- 77% of Americans say the economic conditions in the country today are poor, only 23% say they are good.
- As a result of economic conditions, 64% of Americans have changed the groceries they buy to stay in budget.
- The American public’s view of the nation’s economy is the worst it’s been in a decade and Joe Biden is underwater on issues across the board.
