RNC REGISTERS VOTERS AT GAS STATIONS AS AMERICANS FEEL THE TOLL OF BIDEN’S GAS HIKE

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) has launched a nationwide initiative to register voters at gas stations, with the first events starting this past weekend. As gas hits record high prices because of Joe Biden’s energy agenda, voters are feeling the pinch at the pump.

The initiative began on Saturday with registration drives in Arizona and North Carolina, with more to come in battleground states across the country including California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Maine, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin. At the first voter registration drives in Phoenix and Scottsdale, voters expressed frustration with gas prices soaring to over $4.50 per gallon.

“The Biden Gas Hike is a product of his own doing, and Americans have faced record high gas prices as a result. The RNC is mobilizing at gas stations across the country to register voters and remind folks that the anti-American energy of Biden and the Democrats is costing them more,” said Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

Background:

U.S. gas prices recently reached their highest level ever recorded.

The RNC is hard at work, laying the groundwork for success across the country. We are delivering huge voter registration gains in key states thanks to our investment in RNC Data.

  • In 2008, Florida Democrats held a +700k registration advantage over the GOP. Now, Republicans outnumber Democrats by over 43,000 voters.
  • Every week since the beginning of 2022 Republicans have beaten Democrats in registration in North Carolina.
    • These gains are happening in suburban and rural counties.
  • In Texas, Republicans have brought over 725,000 new voters to the party since 2016. Over 180,000 of these voters are Hispanic.
  • We’re seeing similar gains in states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Iowa, Nevada, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.
  • Previously, we’ve conducted voter registration drives outside DMVs and gun stores. Our focus on gas stations is an evolution of our targeted approach.
  • In 2020, the RNC registered more than 250,000 Republicans.
