CHAIRMAN'S CORNER
Ken Raymond, ChairmanLarry Elder and the California Recall Election There is something very troubling, to me, about the results of the California Recall Election aside from the fact that Gavin Newsome will continue as governor and preside over the destruction of the Golden State. You’re probably thinking that it’s likely the fact that as republicans across the state showed up to vote in person, the precinct judges told them that they already voted. This incident appeared to only happen to republicans, and it happened republican voters on the first day of voting. On the first day, when no one has voted yet, republicans were told they already voted! Yes, that bothers me but that’s not it. You might think that it could be the fact that about 351,000 votes to recall Gov. Newsome mysteriously disappeared during CNN’s live coverage of the election. If you’ve never seen votes vanish before, just click here and you’ll see it. That bothers me too, but that’s not what disturbs me most. What troubles me most is the reaction of Larry Elder. I’ve followed Larry Elder for a very long time. Larry Elder is one of the most fearless, most courageous individuals I know. The fact that he challenged Governor Newsome, a very popular democrat among California’s ultra-leftists, is proof of that. They threw everything they had at him and Elder didn’t flinch. Larry Elder is a true fighter. The Larry Elder I’ve read about for years would fight to expose the truth about why the voting machines showed that republicans already voted when they didn’t. The Larry Elder I’ve heard deliver some of the most inspiring speeches anyone has ever given, would fight to expose the truth about how over 351,000 votes to recall Gov. Newsome mysteriously disappeared. But he’s not fighting it. During his concession speech he even said, “let us be gracious in defeat.” To anyone else that has ever read Elder’s column’s or heard his speeches, you know as well as I do that this is extremely out of character for him. I can’t help to believe that Elder knows something that the rest of us don’t. He knows he doesn’t have to fight because, whatever he knows, is giving him comfort and causing him to believe that justice will be done. That’s the only explanation I can think of. Otherwise, Elder himself would be leading the charge against California’s State Board of Elections. Maybe he is fighting, but in a way we don’t understand. We’ll all have to wait and see.
