REPUBLICAN RUNDOWN

August 6, 2021

Vol. 2, No. 12

CHAIRMAN'S CORNER

Ken Raymond, Chairman

NCGOP GUN RAFFLE

The North Carolina Republican Sportsmen Coalition is sponsoring a Gun Raffle in which one of 20 various rifles, shot guns, and handguns could be yours!

The North Carolina Republican Sportsmen Coalition is a group of men and women across the state that enjoy and respect our natural resources and work to elect leaders who fight for our rights to hunt, fish, and bear arms.

Ticket proceeds will go to benefit the Republican Judiciary Fund for 2022. The drawing will be held during the Sportsmen’s Banquet on October 9, 2021. Location to be announced.

Here are a few of the weapons that you could win: a 12 gauge Beretta Silver Pigeon; a Daniel Defense DDM4V7 .233/556; a Browning Hells Canyon 300 Win; a 12 gauge Franchi Affinity 3; a 9 mm Kimber EVO SP Compact; a 7 mm-08 Bergara Hunter; a .223/536 S&W MP 15; a 12 gauge Rock Island Armor VR80; a 9 mm Sig Sauer P365; a 9 mm Glock 19 Gen 5; a .22lr Henry Golden boy; a 20 gauge ATI Over under; a .357 Taurus Tracker; a 9 mm Beretta APX; a 6.5 mm Creedmoor; a .308 Savage Axis XP Package with scope, and many more!

Last year, 20 individuals, across the state, each won a magnificent firearm, during last year’s gun raffle, for the defense of the families, their homes, their communities, and their county. And their participation in the raffle helped the NCGOP sweep the judicial races in 2020.

This year, you could be the winner as you help place conservative judges in our courts.

VICE CHAIRMAN'S CORNER

Harold Eustache, Vice Chairman

NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley and Buck Newton, Chair, NCGOP Election Integrity Committee, kicked off the meeting by discussing the importance of this committee, how and why it was assembled and our  future goals.

We heard from Josh Finley, who served as the head of Election Integrity for the Trump 2020 Campaign and now serves as the RNC National Director of Election Integrity. North Carolina was a model for the nation in its ability to win.  While we had approximately 2000 various incidents around the state in 2020, however, that was far less than other states.  Our massive army of lawyers and volunteers helped us deliver the state for Republicans.

Stacy "Four" Eggers from the NC Board of Elections and Angela Hawkins from the Wake County BOE described the detailed issues of where we should focus.  Namely: how do we ensure that the rule changes at the State Board of Elections occurring in 2020 do not happen again and how can we keep those rule changes from becoming permanent?

This committee will meet quarterly and will be at the tip of the spear in building out the NCGOP’s election integrity strategy.

Jeff is our newest legislator to the NCGA and has been involved in a number of bills so far.  He can give us updated information as to what is happening in Raleigh and hopefully, we will leave more knowledgeable and with action items to support their legislation.

FUNDRAISING & EVENT COMMITTEE

Wow! All I can say is, WOW!  We had a great group attending our first fundraiser event of the year, our Summertime Sizzler BBQ Fundraiser.  I'm so proud of our Fundraising & Events Committee and all of our wonderful volunteers!

Thank you to everyone who came, helped set up, serve up, clean up, and those helped behind the scenes. You all were vital to making this event a true success!  While it was definitely sizzling that day, the in-person camaraderie and support was evident and well needed. We had over 75 in attendance.

It was so good to get Republicans back together!

Our Chairman, Ken Raymond, was able to speak on Precinct Organization.  NC Supreme Court candidate, Trey Allen, reminded us of the importance of constitutional law in today's judicial system. Candidates for the 6th District Congressional Race, Lee Haywood and Wallace VanHoly also spoke.  We were happy to have Senator Krawiec in attendance.

Please check their websites!

If you missed this one, no worries! We plan to have more and don't miss out on the fun next time.  Check the FCGOP calendar on our web for future events and register and it will send you reminders.

Here's some snapshots of the day, just in case you missed it! ❤️🇺🇸🐘

Thank you!
Kimberly Steelman
Fundraising & Events Committee Chair

ELECTION COMMITTEE

Thanks to all who are ready to serve as precinct judges for 2021 and 2022.  We submitted approximately 250 names to the Forsyth County Board of Elections.  Each of you should receive a call from the FCBOE in a few weeks.  If you do NOT, we need to know and we will follow up with the FCBOE.  (Please call Pat (336.705.2359), Kathleen, (336.407.9272) or Joan (336.671.0005).  You can always call the FCGOP # at 336.724.6000 and leave a message.

Our thanks especially to Pat Kleinmaier and Kathleen Marshall who kept us organized in this process and to all the ladies who volunteered to make the numerous phone calls.  We could not have been successful without your help.

We will continue to actively recruit more judges and polling assistants.  You may continue to call either Pat, Kathleen, or Joan if you are interested in serving on Election Day or during Early Voting.  In order to secure the process, we need as much participation as possible. Thanks to all! Joan Fleming
