US Wins
Supreme Court Victory on Nationwide Injunctions The Court ruled 6–3 to limit lower courts from issuing universal injunctions, allowing Trump’s executive orders, like ending birthright citizenship, to move forward without broad judicial blocks.
Airstrikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities On June 21, the U.S. launched precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, reportedly setting back their program by 1–2 years. Trump declared the mission a success, with bipartisan praise for its effectiveness.
Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran Following the strikes, Trump brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Tehran, easing tensions in the Middle East and boosting his foreign policy credentials.
Economic Momentum A strong June jobs report and signs of economic recovery helped stabilize Trump’s approval ratings, especially on the economy.
Passage of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” On July 4, Trump signed a sweeping 940-page tax and spending bill into law.
Key highlights include:
- Largest middle-class tax cut in U.S. history
- No tax on tips, overtime, or Social Security
- Expanded Child Tax Credit and newborn savings accounts
- Massive military funding and permanent border security investment
- Medicaid and SNAP reforms with new work requirements

NC Losses
Signed Pride Month Proclamation While Vetoing Faith-Aligned Legislation On May 21, 2025, Stein signed a proclamation declaring June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in North Carolina. While largely ceremonial, the action stood in sharp contrast to his vetoes of bills affirming biological sex and parental rights. Many viewed it as highlighting the administration’s cultural priorities.
Vetoed the “Two Sexes” Recognition Bill Governor Stein blocked House Bill 805, which would have formally recognized only two biological sexes in state law. The bill aimed to align North Carolina’s legal definitions with biological reality and protect women’s spaces. Stein’s veto was criticized by lawmakers who say he chose radical ideology over the will of the people.
Rejected DEI Reform Across Public Institutions Three separate bills to eliminate mandatory Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in K–12 schools, public universities, and state agencies were vetoed. Supporters say the reforms would have restored academic focus and reduced ideological bias. Stein called them “mean-spirited,” despite growing public concern over DEI’s impact on education and hiring.
Weakened Parental Rights and Transparency Stein also vetoed provisions that would have strengthened parental rights in education such as limiting access to explicit materials in school libraries and requiring transparency in classroom content. Critics argue this blocks efforts to empower parents and protect children.

Municipal Election Filings Open Today in Forsyth County
It’s official! Forsyth County’s 2025 municipal election season kicks off this week as candidates begin filing to run for local office.
Local residents interested in running for office in towns such as Lewisville, Clemmons, Kernersville, and others now have the opportunity to make their candidacy official.
The filing period runs through Friday, July 18 at 12:00 PM, and all filings must be submitted to the Forsyth County Board of Elections.
In Clemmons, for example, voters will elect a mayor and three council members. Kernersville’s ballot includes races for mayor and five alderman seats. Lewisville voters will choose a mayor and six council members, while towns like Bethania, Rural Hall, Tobaccoville, and Walkertown also have council positions up for grabs.
To qualify, candidates must:
-
Be registered voters
-
Be at least 21 years old by Election Day
-
Have resided within the municipality they wish to represent
-
Have been affiliated with their political party for at least 90 days prior to filing
Filing fees vary by municipality, with most set at $5, though some positions, like mayoral races in Kernersville, carry higher fees.
For the first time, municipal elections in Bethania, Clemmons, Kernersville, Lewisville, Rural Hall, Tobaccoville, and Walkertown will be held on a partisan basis.
This is a pivotal moment for grassroots leadership. If you or someone you know is considering a run, now is the time to step forward and serve your community.
For details, you can reach out to [email protected] with Candidate Recruitment or visit the Forsyth County Board of Elections.
Let’s encourage strong conservative representation at the local level, because real change starts right here at home.
