REPUBLICAN RUNDOWN
June 10, 2022
Vol. 2, No. 53

CHAIRMAN'S CORNER

Ken Raymond, Chairman
Sen. Paul Lowe versus Forsyth County Parents
By Ken Raymond
We should probably thank the Democrats in the General Assembly for making the distinction between Democrats and Republicans very clear for voters.
Last week, all senate Democrats, except for Sen. Ben Clark from Cumberland County, voted against the Parents Bill of Rights 28-18. Among other things, the bill provides parental control over controversial topics such as sexual orientation and gender identity; requires parental consent for medical treatments of students; allows parents to review books in the school’s library; requires parents to be told about all activities in school clubs; and requires parents to be promptly notified if criminal offenses are committed against their children.

So, on behalf of all 72,985 republicans in Forsyth County, I’d like to thank you, Senator Paul Lowe, for showing all 88,835 unaffiliated voters that you don’t believe that parents should be told if a crime is committed against their children in public schools.
Thank you, Sen. Lowe, for telling the voters that you believe schools should vaccinate, provide medical treatments, and other drugs to their children without parental consent. Thank you, Sen. Lowe, for telling the voters that extremely impressionable children should be taught about gender fluidity. And thank you, Sen. Lowe, for telling voters that parents should have absolutely no knowledge of the curriculum being taught to their children.
Sen. Lowe, and the other senate Democrats, were not alone in their opposition to the bill. Immediately after the Republican majority passed it, a group of LGBTQ protesters disrupted the meeting with continuous shouts of “We’re hear, we’re queer, and we’re not going anywhere!” The meeting had to go into recess to clear the gallery before the senate could reconvene.
Clearly, it’s the radical LGBTQ forces who do not want parents to watch over their children or be involved in their education. It’s the militant gay activists that want government to separate the children from their parents. And I’d rather not speculate why. But Sen. Paul Lowe has decided to stand with them. And on Election Day, it’s going to be Sen. Paul Lowe versus the parents of Forsyth County.
Who do you think will win?
Thanks again, Sen. Lowe. We’ll see you in November!

Senator Paul Lowe
