Unaffiliated Voters Support Republican Candidates in Forsyth County

According to the Civitas Institute’s Vote Tracker system, it appears that most unaffiliated voters in Forsyth County prefer casting their ballots for Republican candidates this year.

Between April 28th and May 9th, 784 local independent voters chose to cast their ballots in the Republican primary. Democrat candidates received 681 votes during that time.

In 2020, about 68 percent of unaffiliated voters requested ballots for the Democrat primary statewide. However, this year, the contest for their support is about even with 50.2 percent of ballots requested by independents going to Democrats and 49.4 percent to Republicans. This is a clear indication that independent voters are trending Republican.

Although the turnout for the primary is low countywide, voters in Lewisville appear to be showing up in greater numbers than anywhere else. Vote Tracker shows that residents in Precinct 071 (Lewisville Elementary School), Precinct 134 (Grace Baptist Church in Lewisville), Precinct 135 (Shiloh Lutheran Church in Lewisville), and Precinct 073 (United Moravian Church in Lewisville), lead the way among the top 25 Forsyth County voting precincts for turnout.

WE NEED YOUR HELP ON ELECTION DAY!

Fellow Republicans…

As you know, all 108 voting precincts will be open on Election Day, Tuesday May 17th.

We need your help to collect printouts from voting machines, at these locations, to ensure that all counts recorded at the polling site and recorded by the Board of Elections match up.

By law, anyone can request a copy of the tape.  To complete this task, we ask that our precinct chairs and vice chairs go to your specific voting location and obtain a copy of the closing tape.  You will need to be at the polling location prior to 7:30 pm to make this request to the Chief Judge.

Once you receive the tape, please deliver it to HQ at 300 Jonestown Road Suite 10 the next day to be stored in a secure location.  You will receive additional information about the process to deliver the tape to HQ.

TARGETED OUTREACH COMMITTEE HOSTS VETERANS DINNER

On Tuesday, May 10, several members of the FCGOP Targeted Outreach Committee hosted a dinner for veterans at the Veterans Helping Veterans Heal organization. This program serves previously homeless veterans in Winston-Salem and provides them with housing, life skills and career planning. The FCGOP volunteers prepared a lasagna dinner for 20 veterans and several staff members and we spent about 2 hours eating and visiting with the veterans. It was a really fun evening and we hope to do other events with VHVH in the future. If you would like to join the Targeted Outreach Committee and help with similar activities, please contact committee chair Colleen Lopina at [email protected]

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR ELECTION DAY OPERATIONS COMMITTEE!

Thanks to the 25+ Poll Observers who attended our training this week led by Pat Kleinmaier, a knowledgeable  member of our Election Day Operations Committee.

The Election Day Operations Committee is under the direction of Joan Fleming with team members Pat Kleinmaier, Kathleen Marshall and, newest member, Melissa Thompson.  They get it done!!

Not only have they submitted over 200+ judges to the FCBOE since July, they are recruiting more everyday... even the FCBOE was shocked as it was unprecedented!  They spend endless hours calling, emailing, texting, working with spreadsheets and working hand in hand with FCBOE.  They serve with devotion and a lot of passion!

They also recruit Poll Observers and are determined if a precinct is not balanced with Republican Judges, they will stack it with Republican Poll Observers. This is an unprecedented year: this year, we only have 9 precincts that are not balanced as opposed to 35 not balanced in 2020.

These ladies are serious about ELECTION INTEGRITY!!! They will be looking for YOU in the fall!

Way to go ladies! And thank you for all of your hard work!
