REPUBLICAN RUNDOWN

May 6, 2021

Vol. 2, No.5

CHAIRMAN'S CORNER:

KEN RAYMOND

The last couple of weeks have been very busy and very productive.  I submitted an opinion article on the subject of Reparations to various newspapers in the area; it was picked up and appeared in The Carolina Journal.  Please feel free to share with your friends and on your Facebook pages.  To read, go to:  Carolina Journal

The following Committees have been established; many are staffed and already working.

  • Programs and Events
  • Voter Integrity Committee
  • Voter Registration Committee
  • Local Government Watch Committee

Tim Flinchum has been appointed as our “liaison” to our Republican elected officials.

Congratulations and thank all of you for serving.  If you are interested in working with one of the committees, please sign up on our website or email us at [email protected]

VICE CHAIRMAN'S CORNER:

HAROLD EUSTACHE

I participated recently in the ZOOM call for the city on the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund and presented views from the FCGOP.  We feel that money should be spent on broad categories of: homeless shelters, veterans, law enforcement and first responders.  We intend to participate at every opportunity.  We also were mentioned in the Winston Salem Journal’s story about the meeting.  (We “used our voice”)

We had a productive discussion for our first in-person meeting of the LGWC. The goal was to codify the mission and vision of the committee as well as discuss methods of communication and reporting.

Our mission is to support our local elected Republicans, “watch” all aspects of our local government, comment on their progress, report their actions and hold them accountable.

Communication – We need to communicate with members concerning our meetings.  We are currently using Facebook and emails; however, we plan to develop more efficient ways. We will be broadcasting information in the newsletter and hope to implement a text notification system reminding members of meetings.

Reporting – Our goal is for at least one member to attend each of our local meetings and report to all committee members.  We are currently working on such a program.

Mike Owens, Bob Killmeier, Sean Li, and Jolynn Eller attended our meeting along with Chairman, Ken Raymond.  We plan on having an in person meeting once a quarter.  If you are interested in serving with us, please contact me at [email protected].

LET US USE OUR VOICE!!!
