CHAIRMAN'S CORNER

Ken Raymond, Chairman
Democrats admit that masks were never about the Science
Isn’t it amazing how an election year can bring clarity and reason to the minds of Democrat elected officials across the country at all levels?
Of course, I’m referring to how Democrats everywhere were suddenly enlightened to the unpopularity of mask mandates. Earlier this week, the Democrat governors of California, Oregon, and Washington announced the end of all indoor mask policies. The mayor of Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu lifted indoor mask mandates for businesses this week. And just before Biden’s State of the Union Address, the White House and the Capitol Building lifted its mask mandates.
During a briefing, last month, Gov. Roy Cooper said that schools and local governments should end their mask mandates. And what happened? The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education voted to lift the mask requirement for students and made masks optional in all district school buildings and facilities.
And let’s not forget Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines who also lifted the citywide mask mandate recently. (Not that anyone paid attention to it anyway.)
There’s no point pretending, anymore, that this is about the science or always been about the science. The county school board, city officials, and many other elected officials inflicted great harm on our kids, our economy, and on our society in general with their mask and vaccine mandates.
Once thriving businesses have shut down, people have lost their jobs, and many have suffered great harm to satisfy the Democrats’ mad desire to exercise unlimited control over the people of this country.
By arbitrarily dropping the mask mandates nationwide, the Democrats have admitted that it was never about following the science. It was controlling the lives of the American people and their children. And ending the mask requirements is their response to what they see in polls and they’re trying to prevent it.
Here the bottom line: if the Democrats return to power in our local, state, and national government—so will the mask mandates! But if we want to see the mandates gone forever, then the American people must sweep the democrats from our school boards, our city and county governments, and our state government this election year!
