VOTER INTEGRITY COMMITTEE

Forsyth County Board of Elections

“I didn’t vote absentee in 2016”.   That was my response when I recently checked my voting history with the county board of elections.  Have you checked yours recently?  Maybe you should.  One of the members on the Voter Integrity Committee went into his voting record to see if they were kosher.   What he found was alarming.  He indicated to the committee that it was recorded in his voting history that he voted absentee five times.  According to his recollection, he only has voted once in absentee and it wasn’t in 2016.  He immediately called the FCBOE office and talked with someone regarding this anomaly.  The VIC member felt like the answer wasn’t adequate for such an error.  Was this an anomaly or is this a pattern?  I would like to think it’s the former.  What does YOUR voting record say about your voting?  You would know if it indicates a lot of absentee voting OR if you like to vote “in person”.  If you do go to the FCBOE website and check your voting record/history and you see anomalies please make a note and call the BOE to talk with someone.  With the municipal elections next month, we want to ensure that the record states CORRECTLY how we voted.   If you would like to share with me, feel free to email me with specifics about the situation.  Voting History Matters…….
