Bidenflation: Consumer Price Index Hits A New 40-Year High as Biden Makes NC Visit
  • In March, the Consumer Price Index jumped 8.5% from last year – exceeding expectations and reaching a new 40-year high.
    • Core consumer prices – a measure which excludes food and energy – rose by 6.5 percent since last year, the largest increase since  August 1982. 
    • Amid historic inflation, real average hourly wages were down 2.7% in March, with rising prices  eating up any wage growth. 
    • Americans have now faced 11 straight months of Bidenflation at 5% or higher.
  • Americans are being forced to pay far more for the goods they need. Compared to a year ago:

  • Biden and his White House are desperately attempting to divert the blame for their inflation crisis, instead calling inflation “Putin’s price hike.”
    • This is gaslighting – plain and simple. Biden can’t blame inflation on Putin.
    • Americans know the truth: inflation has been rising since Biden passed his $1.9 trillion “stimulus” package.
    • Since Biden’s “stimulus” was passed, inflation has outpaced wages every single month.
    • Under Biden’s watch, gas prices had already spiked $1.14/gal – before Putin invaded Ukraine.
  • Biden is bringing this spin to North Carolina this week:
    • Biden is scheduled to speak at N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro Thursday to talk about "bringing costs down for the American people" by pushing the same Big Government policies that are driving prices higher and burying families in the first place.
    • Trillions more in spending and radical climate regulations in the form of a 'Build Back Better' boondoggle will only make problems worse.

  • This is Biden’s inflation, and he needs to own it. Better yet, he should reverse his destructive policies, and instead follow Republicans’ example to create a stronger economy for the American people.
