ICYMI: CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL PREVIEWS THE STATE OF THE UNION
Chairwoman McDaniel to Newsmax: Joe Biden Has Not Delivered On His Promises
FINNERTY: Ronna, what are you expecting tonight from the President?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Well, I actually just went back and looked at his inaugural address where he talked about the need for unity working across the aisle. I’d say a year into his presidency, we've seen none of the things that he promised a year ago. The State of the Union is not stronger under Joe Biden’s leadership. I think the American people are desperate to hear him acknowledge that his policies have caused inflation, have caused a rise in the cost of living, that he has not visited our southern border - that it is open and porous, and drugs are coming across. And certainly, the uncertainty that we're seeing on the world stage with Russia invading Ukraine, and our unwillingness to produce oil and gas here in the United States, and ramp that up and take that tool away from Russia. Those are the types of things I hope he would address - I don't think he will.
Chairwoman McDaniel To The National Desk: Republican Governors Have Shown What Leadership Can Do For Our Country
JEFFCOAT: Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds - she's going to deliver the Republican response to the State of the Union. What can you share with us about the Governor's response? Which should we expect to hear tonight from her?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: You know, I think the Republican governors have shown what Republican leadership can do for this country. Republican states are leading in the economic recovery. Out of the 20 states that have added jobs, 17 of them have been led by Republicans. They kept their schools open. They balanced the science of the pandemic in keeping their populations healthy and safe - with keeping their economy open. Those are the things that Republican governors stand for. Kim Reynolds is a star from Iowa, and I think she's going to be really welcomed to the American people when they get introduced to her - for many of them the first time tonight. She's a great messenger for our Party.
